A Flag for a United Europe (European Union)
The European flag was introduced by the Council of Europe in 1955 and adopted by the European Union's 12 member states in 1986. The blue color is intended to symbolize the sky, while the stars, uniformly arranged in a circle, represent the 12 nations of Europe.
