The History of the Flag of Berlin
Berlin's flag was first introduced in 1913, deriving from the Brandenburg standard and supplemented with the Berlin crest. At the time when Berlin was a Prussian province, it was maintained with the standard icons of their choosing. After the Sond World War II, however, it was introduced once again (in West Berlin). In East Berlin, the flag was very similar, also comrpised of red and white. Today, the West Berlin version, bearing an emblem of a bear, is regarded as the flag of Berlin.
