The Meaning of the Flag of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
The flag of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is composed of the colors of Mecklenburg (blue, yellow, red) and the Prussian province of Pomerania (blue, white). In 1945, the countries were merged and collectively adopted the Mecklenburg flag. After the founding of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the new flag was designed, containing elements of both and also including an ox head and the Pomeranian Griffin.
